The opening lines of this book basically take a brick and hit you in the face, then leap onto your chest as you're falling and proceed to continue battering your brain till you get to enjoy a horrific near death experience along with the main character.
She's a high school girl, and the opening of the book is a furious account of a complete asshole she made the mistake of sleeping with: "He came on my arm! My precious left arm! I eat with that arm! Now I'll have to pop it out like a fucking Barbie doll and leave it in my room when I go down to dinner!"
